Edsel B. Ford II tells New York City Audience the Punch Bowl Hunt is Still On
NEW YORK, NY - December 14, 2011 - Edsel B. Ford II, one of the co-chairmen of the Racing in America project, spoke this week at the Madison Avenue Sports Car Driving and Chowder Society monthly luncheon about the RIA project, and the search for Henry Ford's 1901 punch bowl trophy.
Ford, speaking before an overflow crowd at the famous Sardi's Restaurant in Manhattan, told the story of the 1901 race, his race car "Sweepstakes," and the significance of the unlikely victory to helping him start Ford Motor Company in 1903.
